Faith, Fences and the New Neighbors

July 10, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:15 am

A Look at the Good Samaritan Parable

Pushing his listeners to live out the answer of what it means to have eternal life, Jesus casts a Samaritan as the hero of his story where a man is beaten up and left to die. We see that boundaries we often think are justified are merely opportunities to show the power, character, and the heart of God. Here Jesus confronts our sense of goodness about our selves and justice regarding others. We are to be new types of neighbors who no longer justify ourselves by what side of the fence we fall on, but consider ourselves with the otherwise lowly – and reach across it. Something that is easier said than done.
